Canto della Ninfa

Nature-Inspired Arias and Suites by Antonio Vivaldi and George Frideric Handel

4. 8. 2022 | 19:30

Sts. Simon and Jude Church, Dušní, Prague

The renown of Antonio Vivaldi and George Frideric Handel, two of the giants of Baroque opera who were among the most influential and prolific composers of their generation, extended far beyond the borders of their native countries and the period in which they lived and worked. It is to them that the official closing concert in the Church of Sts. Simon and Jude will be dedicated.

The festival’s Ensemble-in-Residence Collegium Marianum, under the direction of Jana Semerádová, will accompany the outstanding Italian soprano Roberta Mameli, whose velvety and extremely agile voice can capture an infinitely wide range of emotions. And the human heart, torn by passions and emotions, is like a fragile ship carried alternately by calm and then stormy waves… Through stories of love, joy, power and cruel fate, we will be able to admire inventive melodies, bold harmonies, colourful instrumentation, lively rhythms and brilliant virtuosity.
