JUBILEMUS!

The programme of the 25th anniversary edition of the Baroque Soirées concert series will showcase the diversity of national styles and their mutual influences in Baroque Europe, both in secular and sacred music. Special emphasis will be placed on the French repertoire, which Collegium Marianum regularly brings to Prague audiences in its unique interpretations.

The opening concert at the Lobkowicz Palace will remind us of the timeless and deeply spiritual beauty of arias from Johann Sebastian Bach's sacred cantatas, performed by one of the most accomplished interpreters, Hana Blažíková. The concert in the Hvězda Summer Pavilion will take us even further back in time, this time to the literary and musical works of Guillaume de Machaut. Hommage to medieval courtly lyricism will bring to life the work of the French poet and composer, who from his youth served the Czech King John of Luxembourg. The third concert takes us to the chambers of the royal court at Versailles, where musical productions took place almost daily during the reign of Louis XIV. With the accession of Louis XV, Queen Marie Leszczyńska took over the patronage of the regular chamber concerts. The programme of the concert will feature the instrumental works of the royal musicians led by François Couperin, François Francœur and Louis Gabriel Guillemain.
