On Tuesday evening, November 5, three outstanding instrumentalists and one actor gathered in the Theresian Hall of the Břevnov Monastery to introduce listeners to the music and atmosphere of the French royal court at the end of the 17th century as part of the Collegium Marianum Baroque Evenings.

Jana Semerádová ranks among the internationally recognized top players of the Baroque transverse flute, the traverso. She has succeeded in gathering around her artists who share her elegant, virtuoso approach to music, and their joint performances continue to enchant listeners both at home and abroad.

Tuesday evening promised a musical treat, complemented by readings from the French royal court of the late seventeenth century. And the audience left enchanted once again. Jana Semerádová and her colleagues added another gem to the imaginary thread of their concerts, this time polished with particular care.

The members of the chamber ensemble Collegium Marianum have once again confirmed that they are among the best in their field, not only in the Czech Republic. And that their instrumental virtuosity in no way hinders them when playing together. On the contrary, their mutual cooperation and inspiration elevates the craft of music to a supreme art, or perhaps even to a shared musical friendship. The listener then gets the impression that they have found themselves at a gathering of good friends who, over a glass of fine wine, read the latest poems and talk about what they are currently experiencing.
