All Roads Lead to Rome

The spectacular artistic flowering of Baroque Rome inspired Collegium Marianum and its artistic director Jana Semerádová to bring a new series of musical soirées. The first concert La Follia will present variations on this famous theme by Italian and French masters in a variety of instrumentation. Antonio Vivaldi's La Follia will not be missing either. The second concert, Il piacer delle dame, will take place in the newly renovated Clam-Gallas Palace and will feature masterpieces influenced by the work of Arcangelo Corelli, including virtuoso violin compositions by Pietro Locatelli and Jean-Marie Leclair. The final concert, Il Natale romano, will bring the atmosphere of Christmas in Rome to the Church of Saints Simon and Jude. Collegium Marianum, together with five soloists with Hana Blažíková at the forefront, will perform arias from George Frideric Handel’s oratorio Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno and the Czech premiere of Alessandro Scarlatti's charming Christmas cantata Abramo, il tuo sembiante.
